Overview

Tile adhesive is a new modern decoration material used to paste decorative materials such as tiles, face tiles, floor tiles, etc. The main raw materials of tile adhesive are cement, limestone, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) and redispersible polymer powder (RDP) . It attaches ceramic tiles to various substrates in a thin-bed method.

The cement based tile adhesive is one of the most extensive applications of Maisi® cellulose ethers and Maisi® VAE Re-dispersible Polymer Powder. Maisi® improves adhesives strength, open time, slip resistance and workability.

Improve water retention: Maisi® Cellulose (HPMC,HEMC) delays the absorption of water by porous materials, which facilitates the hydration of cement and a longer open time for the tile adhesive, and improves the cohesion and strength of the mortar.

Improve thickening effect: Maisi®  Cellulose HPMC improves the adhesion and sag resistance of tile adhesives and prevents slippage between mortar and substrate in construction work.

Improve workability:It can play the role of lubricant, improve the working performance of cement base, and improve the plasticity of mortar.

Improve open time:Maisi® Cellulose HPMC can delay the swelling of tile adhesive, after a certain delay, it will dissolve quickly without caking, which can improve the open time of tile adhesive.
